Job Title: Head Intellectual Property

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and analyze NPD designs for potential intellectual property legal risks.

Critical Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Engineering, such as Mechanical, Electronics, Automotive, or Material Science.
  • Proficiency in conducting Freedom to Operate (FTO) searches and state-of-art search analysis.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 18 years of experience in the field.

Purpose of the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled professional with expertise in intellectual property management to join our organization. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge in Engineering and a proven track record of identifying potential areas for intellectual property legal risk.

  1. The successful candidate will evaluate and analyze NPD designs for potential intellectual property legal risks, plan IP checks, and carry out risk mitigation strategies to strengthen the culture of technology and NPD through IP.
  2. They will develop search strategies and conduct FTO searches for various purposes, including invalidation, opposition, litigation, etc.
  3. Perform advanced technology analysis, including competitive intelligence analysis, design IP protection of transportation design and engineering across business clusters.
  4. Review and recommend FTO decisions for IP tests.
  5. Plan and conduct BOM FTO reviews for NPD at the product level across automotive technology domains, implement best-in-class practices, standardize processes, and enhance productivity through digitalization.
  6. Release periodic IP alerts - review and dispose concerns from stakeholders, effectively build conviction with stakeholders, and manage projects/business clusters independently.
  7. Plan, conduct FTO searches, and state-of-art search analysis on LRP/advanced technology and trigger timely protection for all forms of IP across major global jurisdictions.
  8. Be well-versed with industry best practices and state-of-art tools for IP searches and perform searches across multiple jurisdictions.
  9. Review and resolve claim interpretation issues in FTO with stakeholders, liaison with the legal team for effective disposal.

Bachelor's degree in Law, WON certificate will be an advantage.
