Procurement Specialist Role Overview

As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will play a vital role in driving procurement excellence. This involves identifying and evaluating vendors for pharmaceutical products and consumables, negotiating pricing and credit terms to ensure cost-effectiveness.

You will build and maintain long-term relationships with suppliers and distributors, ensuring uninterrupted supply of critical and life-saving medicines. Your responsibility will also include overseeing purchase planning based on consumption trends and stock requirements, monitoring stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop strategies to optimize inventory management, reduce costs, and improve service delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve seamless supply chain operations.
  • Implement systems for efficient tracking and control of inventory, coordinating with IP & OP pharmacy teams to ensure smooth supply chain flow.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Relevant degree in Pharmacy, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
  • 8-12 years of experience in pharmaceutical procurement, with at least 7+ years in a hospital setting (multispecialty environment).
  • Strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations, regulatory norms, and supply chain best practices.
Essential Skills and Competencies:
  • Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Strong analytical and planning ability.
  • Leadership skills with ability to manage a team effectively.
