Strategic Fund Accountant

As a senior professional, you will play a pivotal role in the Fund Accounting function. Your expertise will be instrumental in managing financial reporting processes for designated funds/entities, including administrative oversight and support.

This challenging position requires exceptional coordination skills, interacting with multiple stakeholders across various locations – internal and external to our organization, including client Group Finance, tax, and legal functions, fund administrators, and auditors.

Key responsibilities include:

• Fund Accounting and Investor Reporting: Lead and support the delivery of monthly/quarterly financial, investor, and regulatory reports. Maintain high-level knowledge over diverse strategies/assets classes.
• Annual Financial Statement Review and Audit Process Management: Support team delivery in line with KPIs, interact with fund administrators for accuracy and timeliness of financial and investor reporting, and ensure insights from the wider team are considered.
• Designated Fund Cash and Liquidity Management: Lead/supervise cash management, bridge facilities, treasury positions, and counterparty exposure. Conduct regular bank reconciliations and invoice reviews adhering to firm-wide and fund-specific policies.
• End-to-End Payment Process Support: Assist in processing invoices, recharge costs to the fund, and capital activities (capital calls and distributions) with shadow calculations and first review of related information produced by fund administrators.
• Monitor Compliance: Assist in monitoring compliance of fund LPA and side letter agreements. Develop processes and controls in the India COE.
• Technical Documentation: Document complex accounting matters, broader fund matters impacting financial records, and performance fee calculations.
• Investor Queries and Valuation Support: Formulate responses to investor queries (external) and internal Investor Relations Team. Review and understand investment valuations and other valuation information for suitability in financial reporting.
• Complexity Management: Manage fund structures and governing documents ensuring operations reflect intended tax planning. Provide backup and cover to other functional support areas within Operations or to other team members as needed.

• Final Review/Shadowing of Management Fees: Report to client's Group Finance function. Lead AUM/FUM reporting to client's Group Finance function; lead workstream for ad-hoc data requests from PLC Group Finance.

• Lead Fund Administrator Assessments: Monitor administrator delivery against SLAs and KPIs. Collaborate with client's Operations teams to record deals correctly in-house systems and maintain data integrity.

• Continuously Improve Fund Accounting Model: Lead ad-hoc projects for operating model improvements and betterment of the function.

• Oversee Team: Direct, guide, and review up to 6 Fund Accountants. Responsible for training and development, timely performance and 1:1 reviews, and training requirements.

• Efficiency Initiatives: Lead efficiency initiatives and develop transformation ideas from India. Complete operational metrics, management reporting requirements, and requests on time for the entire team. Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accurate.
• Material Issues Escalation: Keep Fund Accounting Lead COE informed of material issues impacting client deliverables, SLAs, and KPIs. Timely escalate issues, delays, or challenges. Develop operational risk best practices and risk mitigation strategies for the overall betterment of fund accounting.
• Policy Enforcement: Ensure all mandatory trainings, policies, and procedures are followed by the team with no breaches. Provide active support to Fund Accounting Lead COE on internal deliverables, ensuring prioritization.
