Site Database Systems Specialist

Are you looking for a challenging role in database reliability engineering? We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Site Database Reliability Engineer-II.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on building and maintaining large-scale database systems using Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB. As a Database Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, security, and maintenance of our databases.

• Design, implement, and size large-scale database systems using Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Ensure the provisioning, availability, reliability, performance, security, maintenance, upgrades, and cost optimization of our databases.
• Plan and manage capacity for large-scale database clusters.
• Automate database provisioning, deployments, routine administration, maintenance, and upgrades.
• Respond to critical incidents within specified SLAs, identify root causes, and implement permanent fixes.
• Synchronize data between multiple data stores (e.g., PostgreSQL to Elasticsearch and Snowflake to Elasticsearch).
• Design, document, and benchmark Snowflake or MongoDB instances.
• Maintain, back up, check the health of, alert on, and monitor databases.
• Develop processes, best practices, and enforce them.
• Identify and optimize long-running queries to improve database performance and reduce costs.

• Over 4 years of experience working in dynamic environments, specializing in data engineering with a strong focus on Databricks and Snowflake platforms to deliver scalable, high-performance data solutions.
• Experience integrating Databricks and Snowflake to build seamless workflows that combine Databricks' strengths in real-time analytics, complex transformations, and machine learning with Snowflake's ease of use, concurrency, and data sharing features.
• Deep understanding of Delta Lake for managing data reliability and schema evolution in Databricks, alongside Snowflake's automatic scaling, virtual warehouses, and separation of storage and compute for efficient query performance.
• Expertise in implementing data security best practices including encryption, auditing, and role-based access control on both platforms to ensure compliance and governance.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting and optimizing performance for large-scale production workloads in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), specifically tuning Spark clusters in Databricks and optimizing Snowflake query performance.
• Proactive and innovative problem solver with a keen ability to explore emerging features in databases, enabling organizations to leverage the best of unified analytics, machine learning, and cloud data warehousing to solve complex business challenges.
