We are seeking an experienced Database Specialist to manage and optimize our database environments. The role requires strong expertise in performance tuning, high availability, backup/recovery strategies, and troubleshooting critical production issues.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with DB2 database administration (LUW and/or z/OS), proficiency in scripting and automation tools, and a solid understanding of database security.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain database systems.
  • Perform database performance monitoring, tuning, and optimization.
  • Manage backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and high availability solutions.
  • Implement and enforce database security standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database incidents, outages, and performance issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 8–10 years of hands-on experience in DB2 database administration.
  • Strong expertise in performance tuning and query optimization.
  • Experience with HADR, Data Sharing, and replication technologies.
  • Proficiency in backup/recovery strategies and DR planning.
  • Solid understanding of database security concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with scripting and automation tools.

Good to Have:

  • Exposure to cloud database services.
  • Knowledge of other RDBMS systems.
