Auditing Expertise for U.S. Real Estate Funds

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Auditor with expertise in U.S. real estate funds, private fund audits, and experience with registered funds or digital assets.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in auditing complex financial statements for U.S.-based funds and a deep understanding of relevant U.S. GAAP accounting standards and regulations.

They will work directly with clients, internal teams, and stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely audits and contribute to strategic decision-making within the firm.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead audits for U.S. real estate funds, private funds, and digital assets funds, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and applicable regulations.
  2. Execute end-to-end audit engagements, including planning, risk assessment, testing, and documentation, to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  3. Perform detailed reviews of fund financial statements, investor capital statements, and transaction flow, ensuring that all entries comply with fund policies and applicable accounting standards.
  4. Work with clients to resolve any issues or questions that arise during the audit process and ensure all deliverables meet the required deadlines.
  5. Review and validate fund-specific transactions, including capital calls, distributions, and investor allocations.
Private Fund and Real Estate Fund Expertise:
  1. Review financial statements for real estate investment and private equity funds, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and industry-specific regulations.
  2. Provide expert guidance on complex fund structures, including joint ventures, special purpose entities, and leveraged investments in real estate.
  3. Monitor regulatory developments impacting real estate funds and private equity, especially in relation to digital assets, cryptocurrency, and other emerging investment vehicles.
  4. Analyze and reconcile capital accounts, investor distributions, and investment performance for both real estate and private equity funds.
Audit of Registered Funds & Digital Assets:
  1. Audit registered funds, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements such as the Investment Company Act and applicable SEC rules.
  2. Provide insights on auditing and reporting for digital assets, including cryptocurrencies, tokenized investments, and blockchain-related financial activities.
  3. Ensure the appropriate valuation of digital assets and related transactions, applying industry best practices and U.S. GAAP standards for cryptocurrency reporting.
  4. Stay updated with regulatory changes and reporting guidelines impacting digital asset funds and other alternative investments.
Client & Team Interaction:
  1. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during audits, developing and maintaining strong professional relationships.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including tax advisors, legal teams, and operations, to provide comprehensive audit services.
  3. Provide training and mentorship to junior audit staff, assisting with technical questions, and guiding them through the audit process.
Reporting & Documentation:
  1. Prepare comprehensive audit documentation and workpapers, ensuring compliance with firm policies and auditing standards.
  2. Draft audit reports, presenting findings and providing recommendations to clients and senior management.
  3. Ensure that audit findings and recommendations are effectively communicated and acted upon by clients.
