Director of Soft Services Management

The Director of Soft Services Management oversees and directs the delivery of all non-technical facility services across multiple sites or a large complex facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop strategic plans for soft services management, aligning with organizational objectives.
  • Establish performance standards and key performance indicators (KPIs) for soft services, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Lead and mentor a team of facility managers and service providers, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key vendors, negotiating contracts that meet organizational needs.
Service Delivery
  • Oversee the delivery of soft services, including cleaning and janitorial services, security and reception, mail and courier services, food services and catering, landscaping and grounds maintenance, waste management and recycling, space management and move services.
  • Evaluate and implement quality control systems to ensure high-quality services are consistently delivered.
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, minimizing risks and liabilities.
Vendor Partnerships
  • Select and negotiate contracts with external service providers, optimizing value and minimizing costs.
  • Foster strong relationships with key vendors, encouraging open communication and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Evaluate vendor performance regularly, implementing corrective actions as needed to ensure optimal results.
Budget and Financial Management
  • Prepare and manage annual budgets for soft services, aligning with organizational financial goals.
  • Analyze costs and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising service quality.
  • Review and approve invoices from service providers, ensuring timely payment and maintaining positive relationships.
Continuous Improvement
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in facility management, applying new knowledge to improve service delivery.
  • Implement new technologies and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, driving business results.
  • Conduct regular service audits, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
