APAC Data Protection Specialist

As a highly skilled privacy professional, you will play a key role in assisting our organization to implement global and local data privacy frameworks. You will provide comprehensive first and second line privacy services, delivering hands-on privacy advice, guidance, and support to various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the CPO in implementing the Global Data Privacy Framework across APAC
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of business activities as directed by the CPO
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders to gain insights into business operations
  • Identify, articulate, guide, and assist in the identification, management, and monitoring of privacy risks and obligations
  • Train colleagues in the identification and management of privacy risks and provide coaching to Privacy Champions
  • Perform horizon scanning, conducting risk assessments, AI impact assessments, and personal data transfer impact assessments

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in an operational/consultative privacy role
  • Privacy qualifications/certificates (e.g., CIPP/Asia, CIPM)
  • Good practical knowledge of APAC data protection laws and regulations (e.g., Australia's Privacy Act 1988, New Zealand's Privacy Act 2020, Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act)
  • Proven track record of providing hands-on privacy advice
  • Knowledge of the insurance broking or insurance sector (advantageous but not essential)
