Data Protection Officer Role

As a Data Protection Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing and implementing data protection practices across the organization.

  • Develop and maintain robust data protection frameworks to align with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Evaluate and mitigate potential risks associated with data breaches and cybersecurity threats.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and compliance audits to ensure effective security controls are in place.
  • Establish strong relationships with stakeholders to promote data protection awareness and best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Compliance, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, CISSP, CISM, CISA, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, or CRISC are highly preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Protection, Compliance, GRC, or Cybersecurity roles.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks (SOC2, ISO27001, GDPR, DPDP, PCI-DSS, NIST, ITGC, Third-Party Risk Management).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
