Senior Data Protection Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Protection Specialist to join our team. As a Senior Data Protection Specialist, you will be responsible for advising management on data management and governance, including transfers, retention, and destruction.

This role requires a deep understanding of data protection legislations and awareness of changing laws. You will need to have prior experience working on existing privacy laws like GDPR/CCPA/PDPA and HIPAA is preferred.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Advise management on data management and governance.
  • Implement Data Protection Policy and Framework.
  • Govern data collection and processing to ensure policy compliance.
  • Inform data controllers, processors, and principals of their obligations and rights in accordance with the law.
  • Develop and deliver data protection training to employees.
  • Maintain regulatory oversight for compliance with data privacy laws.
  • Conduct Data Privacy Impact Assessments and audits.
  • Support embedding 'Privacy by Design' in systems and processes.

Essential Attributes:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from a reputable university.
  • At least 5 years of experience in data protection and compliance.
  • Strong analytical skills and approach to data processing.
  • Sound IT skills and understanding of firm's IT infrastructure.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to deal with pressure situations and senior stakeholders.
  • Methodical, structured, and governance-focused approach.
  • Excellent documentation and presentation skills.
