Job Title: Culinary Team Member

">Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced culinary team member to join our kitchen team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking menu items to the highest standard.

">Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare all basic food items for the menu as requested by their supervisor.
  • Maintain advanced knife handling skills.
  • Work efficiently in any kitchen section.
  • Apply good food knowledge and culinary terms understanding.
  • Read, understand, follow, and prepare company recipes.
  • Effectively complete tasks and work productively.
  • Fully comply with Public Health standards according to company expectations within their section.
  • Maintain their assigned area for announced or unannounced inspections.
  • Report for duty on time, follow supervisor instructions, and ensure personal appearance meets company rules.
Financial Responsibilities
  • Responsible for cost containment through proper use, handling, and maintenance of records, reports, supplies, and equipment.
Motivational Responsibilities
  • No supervisory responsibilities are required for this position.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of experience in upscale hotels, resorts, cruise ships, or convention banqueting services, including at least 2 years as a Line Cook. A culinary school degree is mandatory.

  • Strong management skills in multicultural and dynamic environments.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
  • Superior customer service, teamwork, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of personalized service principles, needs assessment techniques, quality service standards, alternative delivery systems, and guest satisfaction evaluation techniques.
  • Strong planning, coaching, organizing, staffing, controlling, and evaluating skills.
  • Intermediate computer software skills are required.
  • Familiarity with basic accounting principles, such as numbering flow, 'Debits/Credits', adjusting entries, and corrections.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence and establish good relationships with ship officers and corporate office staff.

  • Completion of at least one contract as Commis Cook with satisfactory performance rating and demonstrated leadership skills.
