Design Leadership Role

This senior role is focused on leading a team of designers in delivering high-quality design solutions that meet business and user needs.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience in product design, with at least 3 years of experience managing or mentoring a team of UX and visual designers. They should also have expertise in design processes, systems, and tools like Figma or Miro, as well as strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor a team of designers, providing career guidance and ensuring they are motivated, engaged, and aligned with company goals.
  • Drive design excellence by optimizing processes and workflows, improving efficiency, and ensuring consistent, high-quality design outcomes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in product, engineering, and other departments to ensure design solutions align with business objectives and user needs.
  • Facilitate design sprints, workshops, and reviews, helping the team solve complex problems with strategic, data-driven solutions.
  • Promote a culture of openness and feedback, where team members share progress and challenges regularly with stakeholders and leadership.
  • Manage staffing and project resourcing strategically, ensuring the team is well-positioned to meet product deadlines and deliver impactful solutions.
  • Foster a user-centered design approach, advocating for the integration of diverse perspectives and user feedback into the design process.
  • Lead initiatives that impact customer success, driving improvements that enhance product usability and align with customer satisfaction goals.
  • Champion mentorship and citizenship within the team, ensuring a culture of support, inclusivity, and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Experience:
  • 8+ years of product design experience, with a strong track record of delivering design solutions for web, mobile, or desktop platforms.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing or mentoring a team of UX and visual designers.
  • Skills:
  • Expertise in design processes, systems, and tools like Figma or Miro, with experience optimizing workflows and improving team efficacy.
  • Proven ability to advocate for design within cross-functional teams, collaborating with product and engineering to ensure design aligns with long-term business and user goals.
  • Experience fostering a culture of growth and mentorship, including career development and team-building skills.
  • Strong leadership skills, including managing strategic project staffing and ensuring team alignment with company objectives.
  • Education:
  • A Bachelor's degree in design, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience (a postgraduate degree is preferred).
Preferred Skills
  • U.S Healthcare industry knowledge and expertise.
  • Experience designing both B2B, B2C, and SaaS products and experiences.
  • Postgraduate degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience using A.I. tools and a strong understanding of A.I. user experiences.
