About Venture Fund Role

This is a key position in a venture capital fund, focused on investing in revenue-positive startups that solve core problems in India.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will be part of the core team, working directly under the Managing Director, and will be responsible for sourcing investors, structuring deals, closing deals, evaluating startups, managing due diligence, and supporting portfolio companies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deal Sourcing: Identify potential investors through networks, events, inbound leads, accelerators, and referrals.
  • Evaluation of Investments: Analyze business models, financials, traction, and scalability of potential investments.
  • Due Diligence: Support legal, financial, and compliance checks on shortlisted startups.
  • Portfolio Support: Work with portfolio companies on fundraising, growth strategy, and performance tracking.
  • Market Research: Conduct deep dives into sectors, prepare market maps, and identify emerging opportunities.
  • Fund Operations: Assist with investment memos, reporting to limited partners, and internal fund documentation.
  • Ecosystem Building: Represent the fund at startup events, demo days, and founder meetings.
Requirements:
  • A degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience in venture capital, private equity, consulting, investment banking, or startup strategy.
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical skills.
  • Strong networking skills and a built-up network.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable working in a fast-paced, lean team environment.
