System Architect: IP Network Infrastructure

The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of IP network infrastructure.

  • Maintain Service Level Agreements (SLAs) where practical and achieve early resolution in case of non-compliance.
  • Identify technical solutions to avoid repeated work package raising for similar issues.
  • Develop additional knowledge and expertise to enhance overall understanding of test facility and its components.
  • Define proactive work required to maintain test estate usability by wider integration, test and development communities.
  • Implement changes to improve processes and represent team as owner of process.

Configure and troubleshoot Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Certificate Authorities (CAs) systems for secure authentication and communication. Ensure alignment between technology labs and service architecture and operational design teams.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Intermediate level knowledge of IP Transport.
  • Equivalent knowledge and experience to Cisco CCNP, Juniper JNCIP or Nokia NRS-2.
  • Solid experience in CheckPoint/Fortinet Firewall product families.
  • Excellent breadth of knowledge in other technical areas of work such as Core, RAN, IP or VASI, Network Support, Facility Services.
  • Able to describe key elements of mobile network and understand how components function and interact.

Understand detail of call made and received over network and systems it touches en route. Very good knowledge of Testing and Project Life-cycles.

Significant experience of Operation & Maintenance. Ability to interpret and implement complex transport designs within test and proof of concept networks.

Technical experience implementing interior routing protocols such as Integrated IS-IS and OSPF. Experienced with Quality of Service (DiffServ, HQoS, MPLS EXP) and able to implement QoS policies within converged voice and data network.

Technical experience implementing MPLS layer 3 technologies, primarily within a Juniper MPLS network.

Engineering, Science or IT based degree or equivalent experience. Ansible Automation. Mobile Backhaul Networking.
