About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our fast-paced, data-driven team. This remote opportunity is ideal for professionals with strong SQL development skills and experience in data quality management and migration.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives on solving complex data problems, has experience with schema migrations and rollback strategies, and wants to work with global clinical trial systems in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze, debug, and resolve data quality issues across multiple related tables.
  • Write complex SQL queries using joins, CTEs, window functions, temp tables, and nested queries.
  • Perform schema-level fixes and implement rollback logic using tools like Phinx, Flyway, or Liquibase.
  • Collaborate with product and QA teams to validate fixes, create data validation test cases, and ensure reproducibility.
  • Document root cause analysis clearly and communicate solutions with stakeholders.
  • Work with project management tools for ticket management, tagging, and maintaining proper workflow.
Must-Have Skills:
  • Advanced SQL Development – strong hands-on experience with complex joins, aggregations, and performance optimization.
  • Data Remediation Expertise – proven ability to debug and fix production data issues.
  • Database Migration & Rollback Experience – familiarity with schema migrations and rollback tools (Phinx, Flyway, Liquibase).
  • Data Validation & QA – ability to design and execute validation steps to ensure accuracy.
  • Experience with clinical trial systems, CTMS, EDC, or multi-tenant platforms.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
