Job Title: SCADA Systems Architect

A leading Indian multinational IT services and consulting firm is seeking an experienced SCADA Systems Architect to join its team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, configuring, and deploying Ignition SCADA and MES applications across manufacturing operations. They should be proficient in architecting and implementing real-time data acquisition visualization and reporting solutions.

Key responsibilities include ensuring seamless integration of OT systems, PLC, SCADA, MES with enterprise IT systems, ERP databases, and cloud platforms. The successful candidate will also develop and maintain secure, efficient data exchange using REST APIs, MQTT, and OPC UA protocols.

Additional responsibilities include managing industrial databases, SQL historian, timeseries databases for high availability and performance. Collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to align system capabilities with production and business needs is also essential.

Technical leadership in digital transformation initiatives, such as Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing, and predictive analytics, is required. Troubleshooting, optimizing, and supporting existing SCADA/MES deployments to ensure minimal downtime is also a key responsibility.

Mentoring junior engineers and supporting knowledge sharing across the engineering team is a critical aspect of this role. The ideal candidate will have at least 3+ years of experience in SCADA/MES engineering within the manufacturing industry.

Required qualifications include proven expertise with Ignition SCADA, Inductive Automation, including scripting module configuration and project deployment. Strong background in MES functions, production tracking, OEE, downtime analysis, traceability, SPC, etc., is essential.

Proficiency in database technologies, such as SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or equivalent, is required. Hands-on experience with OT/IT integration technologies, REST APIs for system interconnectivity, MQTT for IIoT messaging and lightweight communication, and OPC UA for industrial interoperability is also necessary.

Strong knowledge of industrial control systems, PLC, SCADA, HMIs, and plant floor connectivity is a must. Familiarity with manufacturing standards, such as ISA95, ISA88, ISA99, IEC 62443, is also required. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills are essential for success in this role.

Experience working on large-scale digital transformation Industry 4.0 projects is highly desirable. Certifications, such as Ignition Gold Certified Specialist, OPC UA, or relevant industrial IT/OT certifications, are a plus.
