Legal Advisor Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Legal Advisor to join our team. As a Legal Advisor, you will be responsible for providing expert legal counsel and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.

  • About the Role:
    • The Legal Advisor role involves managing litigation, drafting and reviewing legal documents, and advising on policy development to protect the organization's interests.
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Provide timely and accurate legal advice on various matters to senior management and ensure adherence to all relevant laws and regulations.
    • Draft, review, and vet legal documents, including Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and standard agreements with external parties.
    • Coordinate with internal and external legal advisors and standing counsels on court matters, preparing responses to grievances and attending court when necessary.
    • Monitor and manage internal legal processes, update existing internal policies, and help formulate and implement new ones.
    • Serve as a member secretary for committees and handle internal disputes from a legal perspective.
  • Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's or master's degree in law (LLB or LLM) from a recognized institution with Bar Council registration.
  • Experience and Skills:
    • Minimum of six years of experience as an advocate or working in the legal department of an organization, preferably in the education sector.
    • Possess strong analytical, negotiation, and drafting skills, along with excellent oral and written communication abilities. Knowledge of the local language is essential.
