Job Title: Database Administrator Specialist

 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SQL Server administration, including installation, configuration, management, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Installing and configuring SQL Server from version 2005 to 2022
  • Patching hierarchy and clarity on SQL Build numbers and Internal Database build numbers
  • Upgrading/Migrating SQL Server from older versions to newer ones
  • Configuring Linked Servers between same/different SQL Server versions
  • Setting up contained databases for effective migrations
  • Configuring recovery models and designing backup strategies
  • Fine-tuning backups using advanced parameters like Backup Encryption, Compression, MAXTRANSFERSIZE, BUFFERCOUNT, BLOCKSIZE & CHECKSUM
  • Handling Master, Model, MSDB, TEMPDB and Resource database corruptions
  • Configuring High Availability (HA) solutions, Always-On Availability Groups, and Replication
  • Advanced Cluster knowledge, Quorum, Dynamic Quorum, Voting Mechanism, Failovers through Cluster Administrator and commands
  • Managing Always-On AG scenarios, including failover, adding new data/log files, Lease Timeout, Health check timeout, Failure Condition Level parameters, Read-Only Routing, listeners and backup configurations

 

To be successful in this role, the candidate will require:

  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server Architecture, T-SQL, Triggers, Procedures, HA/DR solutions, Patch management, Server capacity monitoring, analysis and tuning activities, Automation using scripts and tools in Backup, Monitoring, Resource Utilization, HA alerts, capacity plan management, SQL Server Tuning
