Substation Electrical Design Engineer

We are seeking a seasoned Substation Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and implementing primary and secondary electrical systems for substations, including transformers, switchgear, breakers, and other essential equipment.

Your expertise in system integration will ensure seamless coordination across electrical, control systems, and substation infrastructure to guarantee operational efficiency and safety. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement comprehensive designs that meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement primary and secondary electrical systems for substations, including transformers, switchgear, breakers, and other essential equipment.
  • Ccoordinate the integration of electrical and control systems across substation infrastructure to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
  • Prepare, review, and revise technical drawings such as singleline diagrams, wiring diagrams, and protection schemes.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (IEEE, IEC, ANSI) and local regulations in electrical designs.
  • Conduct detailed design reviews, risk assessments, and safety checks to ensure reliability and robustness of the designs.
  • Provide technical support during the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting phases of substation projects, including resolving electrical design-related issues.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 6-16 years of experience in designing primary/secondary electrical systems for substation projects.
  • Strong knowledge of substation design, power systems, protection schemes for HV/MV substation projects.
