Job Description

You will be responsible for creating high-quality electrical design deliverables. Your key tasks will include developing building electrical power distribution options, designing lighting systems for various project types, and participating in conceptual design efforts on projects. Additionally, you will perform calculations for projects, such as load calculations, panel schedules, short circuit, and arc-flash equipment and product selection, sizing conduit and conductor sizing, and design layouts using various software platforms.

  • Electrical floor plans
  • Equipment schedules
  • One-Line Single-line Diagrams
  • Specification of equipment installation details
  • Preparing electronic drawings with accuracy neatness and efficiency using industry software
  • Developing building electrical power distribution options
  • Designing lighting systems for various project types
  • Participating in conceptual design efforts on projects
  • Performing calculations for projects
  • Reviewing and approving shop drawings and submittals

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong foundation in electrical design principles, including knowledge of electrical systems, types of equipment used in the industry, and general understanding of system designs. You should also have experience working with other building trade disciplines, such as mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, process, and structural. Additionally, you should have proficiency in reading one line diagrams, P IDs, equipment plans, and plan drawings for all disciplines.

Desired Profile for Candidates:

  • A minimum of 2-6 years of design experience is required
  • Any additional construction industry-specific experience is a plus
  • Good communication skills are essential
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit or similar design software applications
  • Knowledge of SKM, ETAP or other electrical modeling programs
  • Knowledge of AGI, ELUM Tools, Visual, Dialux or other lighting modeling software
  • Proficient knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office software programs
