Job Summary:

We are seeking a meticulous and analytical professional to join our team as a Business Intelligence Analyst. The ideal candidate will be responsible for auditing electronically submitted legal fee and expense invoices from law firms and vendors, ensuring compliance with legal billing guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth review of invoice lines, applying specialized knowledge of legal subject matter expertise to the context of legal invoice line items.
  • Verify the accuracy of UTBMS task codes applied to invoice line items.
  • Independently make adjustments to invoice line items as necessary based on assessment of legal context of invoice.
  • Document reasons for any additional adjustments made to invoice line items.
  • Forward audited and peer-reviewed legal invoices through the review chain as required.
  • Promptly and professionally resolve law firm appeals by addressing requests for reconsideration of adjusted amounts while utilizing careful judgment and legal expertise.
  • Perform data analysis, specifically with Data Service initiative within our organization.
  • Develop and implement LBA Data Service AI logic through deep domain expertise of Data Service AI and subject matter expertise.
  • Mentor and coach LBA Data Service team members in general and query resolution, training, etc.

Requirements:

  • Minimum experience: Graduate Degree and 3-6 years industry or 1-2 years Data service experience.
  • Strong understanding of legal terminologies.
  • Experience with law firms is also preferred.
  • Prior US and International legal invoice review and analysis experience in a legal invoice analyst role.
  • Ability to effectively communicate legal analysis to those with varying levels of legal expertise.
