**Job Overview**

We are seeking a Produce Category Expert to lead sourcing, sales, and category development for a diverse portfolio including vegetables and fruits.

  • Develop and execute growth plans across vegetable staples and fruit categories.

  • Track market trends, customer demand patterns, and international trade flows.

  • Define assortment strategy (varieties, pack sizes, sourcing regions) for each category.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Directly drive sales of assigned categories across various channels.

  • Build strong customer relationships and close deals to achieve revenue and margin targets.

  • Over time, recruit, train, and manage a sales team to scale with category volumes.

**Category Strategy & Planning**

  • Develop comprehensive category plans, including market research, competitor analysis, and pricing strategies.

  • Identify opportunities for growth, innovation, and cost savings within the portfolio.

**Sales & Business Development**

  • Drive sales of assigned categories through strategic account management and business development initiatives.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize pricing, promotions, and in-store displays.

**Required Skills & Qualifications**

  • Strong understanding of fresh produce value chains, including farm production, seasonality, and mandi dynamics.

  • Hands-on sales experience with ability to close deals and grow revenues.

  • Negotiation and vendor management expertise.

  • Analytical skills to track price trends, demand forecasts, and category economics.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with supply chain, operations, sales, and finance.

  • Entrepreneurial and execution-focused mindset.

**Qualifications**

  • Graduate/Postgraduate degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Supply Chain, or MBA.

  • 6–10 years of experience in F&V category management, commodity sourcing, or modern trade supply chains.
