Job Description

The Category Manager - Bakery role is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive category strategies that align with business goals, focusing on growth, profitability, and market share expansion.

This involves overseeing the product assortment within the bakery category, ensuring a balanced mix of offerings that cater to consumer preferences. Regular market research gathers insights into consumer preferences, emerging trends, and potential growth areas.

Closely collaborating with sales and R&D teams ensures alignment of objectives and seamless execution of bakery category plans.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Key responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing sales data to understand present offerings to key customers
  • Understanding the bakery category performance and metrics
  • Identifying gaps and untapped opportunities with strategic accounts – identifying ways of entry in their system with present offerings
  • Assessing current market position and formulating a strategic growth plan for the bakery category considering market dynamics: customer and competition landscape
  • Driving initiatives that are customer-led to improve the pipeline, aiding business growth
  • Timely reviewing with sales and R&D teams and facilitating seamless execution of pipeline projects
  • End-to-end coordinating with internal stakeholders for customer innovation days/meetings
  • Developing and training sales teams for key account engagements
  • Understanding customers' future requirements and presenting it to internal stakeholders based on market relevance of the concept
