Engineering Manager Role Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a team of 6-10 full-stack engineers in developing fintech product modules using MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js.
The successful candidate will have 8+ years of software development experience, with at least 3+ years in team leadership roles, and a proven track record of working in product-based fintech companies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of full-stack engineers to deliver high-quality features on time.
- Drive performance management, team development, and career progression to ensure the team's growth and success.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and QA, to ensure timely delivery of features.
- Owning the architecture, design, and implementation of core fintech product modules to drive business results.
- Review and enforce coding standards, CI/CD pipelines, and software quality best practices to ensure system scalability, security, and performance.
- Ensure system availability, scalability, and security by translating business requirements into scalable tech solutions.
- Proactively identify risks and bottlenecks and implement mitigations to ensure the team's success.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 8+ years of software development experience with a strong understanding of the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js).
- At least 3+ years in team leadership roles with a proven track record of working in product-based fintech companies.
- Deep hands-on experience in cloud-native architectures (AWS/GCP/Azure) with a strong understanding of REST APIs, microservices, Docker, and container orchestration.
- Proficiency in security best practices in fintech with strong debugging, optimization, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills with exposure to DevOps practices and observability tools.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with TypeScript, GraphQL, or WebSockets.
- Exposure to prior experience building lending, payments, or investment platforms.
