Director of Elite Performance

This is a senior leadership role that oversees the entire athlete pathway, from talent identification to elite performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pathway Strategy and Leadership
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for identifying, recruiting, and developing athletes.
    • Collaborate with marketing teams to create clear campaigns around opportunities.
    • Engage in strategic planning and review processes with the senior leadership team.
  • Talent Identification and Development
    • Coordinate and deliver annual programs for identifying and developing athletes.
    • Develop sport-specific benchmarking and profiling systems in collaboration with sports scientists.
    • Drive initiatives such as talent transfer and special scouting projects.
    • Implement systems to ensure a comprehensive athlete database.
  • Program Design and Delivery
    • Oversee planning, marketing, and scheduling of creative campaigns for identifying and recruiting athletes.
    • Ensure all athletes are supported throughout recruitment campaigns.
    • Establish a process for participating in talent identification and recruitment campaigns through modern video mediums.
    • Create a graphical prospectus outlining the offer to each athlete.
    • Develop a payment and reward system that attracts top talent while prioritizing an Olympic Medal winning journey.
  • Staff and Stakeholder Management
    • Recruit and develop a team for scouting and recruiting athletes.
    • Build and develop relationships with key stakeholders, club coaches, parents, national federations, and other required stakeholders.
  • Data, Review & Insights
    • Track and monitor athlete talent using real-time analytics and benchmarking tools.
    • Lead reviews and elevate the club structure with annual professional development opportunities for club coaches.
    • Use national and international performance trends to inform recruitment strategy.
  • Education and Welfare Integration
    • Collaborate with educational pathways team for athlete welfare and dual career programs.
    • Facilitate induction, transition, and exit processes for athletes entering and exiting the pathway.
  • Compliance and Reporting
    • Ensure compliance with institutional, national, and international regulatory frameworks.
    • Prepare program reports, athlete summaries, and budget justifications as required.
