Job Title: Technical Director

Job Description:

  • We are seeking a highly skilled technical director to oversee the development and implementation of our infrastructure strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements the organization's IT infrastructure strategy, including on-premise data center management and cloud deployments.
  • Analyzes existing infrastructure effectiveness and efficiency, developing strategies to improve or leverage these systems.
  • Negotiates the purchase of software, hardware, and other IT supplies as approved by senior management.
  • Manages inventory of software licenses, software, hardware, and other IT supplies.
  • Collaborates with senior management and peers on matters requiring alternate approaches.
  • Manages outsourced teams for daily operations and activities.
  • Provides solutions to complex business problems, applying in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives.
  • Performs live disaster recovery (DR) activities and DR drills periodically.
  • Possesses working knowledge of servers, storage, databases, operating systems (Windows and Linux), and networks.
  • Ensures production incident management and regulatory compliance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in infrastructure management, including both on-premise data centers and cloud infrastructures.

Skills:

  • Program and project management expertise.
  • Planning and executing infrastructure-related projects.
  • In-depth hands-on knowledge of infrastructure components, including servers, storage, databases, operating systems, and networks.
  • Excellent understanding of cloud computing principles and technologies.

Functional Competencies:

  • Ability to perform infrastructure discovery assessments and transformation strategies.
  • Holistic understanding of all data center functions, including production operations, change control, DR/business recovery, helpdesk, systems management, and facilities.
  • Experience with private and public cloud architectures, migration considerations, and pros/cons.
