We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Automation Engineer to lead the design, configuration, and deployment of Ignition SCADA and MES applications across manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in industrial automation, including PLC programming, SCADA systems, and enterprise IT systems integration.
The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to align system capabilities with production and business needs. They will also provide technical leadership in digital transformation initiatives such as Industry 4.0 smart manufacturing and predictive analytics.
- Design, configure, and deploy Ignition SCADA and MES applications across manufacturing operations.
- Architect and implement real-time data acquisition, visualization, and reporting solutions.
- Ensure seamless integration of OT systems (PLC, SCADA, MES) with enterprise IT systems (ERP, databases, cloud).
- Develop and maintain secure, efficient data exchange using REST APIs, MQTT, and OPC UA protocols.
- Manage industrial databases, SQL historian, and timeseries databases for high availability and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to align system capabilities with production and business needs.
- Provide technical leadership in digital transformation initiatives such as Industry 4.0 smart manufacturing and predictive analytics.
- Troubleshoot, optimize, and support existing SCADAMES deployments to ensure minimal downtime.
- Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge sharing across the engineering team.
- Strong background in MES functions, production tracking, OEE, downtime analysis, traceability, SPC, etc.
- Proficiency with database technologies (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL or equivalent).
- Hands-on experience with OT/IT integration technologies.
- REST APIs for system interconnectivity.
- MQTT for IIoT messaging and lightweight communication.
- OPC UA for industrial interoperability.
- Strong knowledge of industrial control systems (PLC, SCADA HMIs, plant floor connectivity).
- Familiarity with manufacturing standards (ISA95, ISA88, ISA99, IEC 62443).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience with cloud-based IIoT platforms (Azure IoT, AWS IoT, etc.).
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices in OT environments.
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) for SCADAMES deployments.
- Experience in working on large-scale digital transformation Industry 4.0 projects.
- Certifications (Ignition Gold Certified Specialist, OPC UA or relevant industrial IT/OT certifications).
