Job Title: Head of Culinary Operations

 

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Head of Culinary Operations to lead our kitchen team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in high-end hotel, resort or cruise ship kitchens and possess excellent leadership and communication skills.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring that all food is prepared to a high standard and meets the required quality and presentation standards.
  • Direct, coach, support and supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and feedback to ensure that they are performing to their best ability.
  • Maintain high-quality food standards and consistency in taste according to company recipes, with the ability to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as necessary.
  • Coordinate team members, assign tasks and delegate responsibilities effectively, ensuring that all aspects of the kitchen operation are running smoothly.
  • Undertake daily recipe reviews and maintain recipe folders, ensuring that all recipes are up-to-date and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure public health and safety standards are met in the kitchen at all times, adhering to relevant regulations and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Oversee food production in main sections of the kitchen, monitoring productivity and efficiency levels to identify areas for improvement.
  • Maintain assigned area in preparation for inspections, ensuring that all equipment and facilities are in good working order.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum 8 years' experience in a high-end hotel, resort or cruise ship kitchen, preferably in a senior management role.
  • Culinary school degree required, with a strong understanding of food preparation and presentation techniques.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of chefs and kitchen staff.
  • Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills, with the ability to think on your feet and adapt to changing situations.
  • Knowledge of personalized services principles and techniques, with the ability to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
