Key Job Responsibilities

As a key member of the culinary team, you will play a vital role in ensuring efficient kitchen operations.

  • Plan and coordinate kitchen activities to achieve optimal effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement menu planning strategies in line with company guidelines.
  • Manage inventory levels by accurately forecasting requirements and ordering supplies.
  • Estimate daily and weekly needs to ensure seamless operations.

Leadership and Team Management

  • Provide support to the team to enable them to deliver high-quality services.
  • Ensure that team members are trained and equipped to meet safety standards.
  • Motivate and develop the team to enhance overall department performance.
  • Prepare duty rosters to optimize team efficiency.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels to consistently provide excellent guest service.

Financial Acumen

  • Monitor operations to minimize food wastage and reduce costs.
  • Maximize employee productivity to minimize payroll expenses.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and educate the team on best practices.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee the function of the kitchen team, facilities, and costs to drive overall Food & Beverage department success.
  • Ensure that food preparation and presentation meet quality standards.
  • Adjust duties and rosters as necessary to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Maintain company and statutory hygiene standards.
  • Ensure the highest quality of all food items at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum primary education is required.
  • Certification from a reputable culinary school is an advantage.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity is preferred.
  • Good reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English language is essential.
  • Ability to speak other languages and basic understanding of local languages is an advantage.
