System Infrastructure Expert Wanted

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced system infrastructure expert to join our team. As a senior member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our company's infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective solutions to ensure seamless operations and project alignment across technology teams.
  • Implement infrastructure including hardware, servers, and virtual machines, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Perform regular maintenance, upgrades, patches, and firmware updates to prevent technical issues and downtime.
  • Provide prompt and thorough technical support, including root cause analysis and testing, to resolve complex technical problems.
  • Drive automation and suggest process improvements for operational efficiency, streamlining tasks and reducing costs.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, processes, implementations, and support activities, ensuring transparency and clarity.
  • Recommend and implement support strategies to enhance system performance, security, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with teams to validate system operability and resolve scheduling conflicts, ensuring smooth integration and delivery.
  • Monitor system health and performance metrics to proactively address potential issues, preventing downtime and data loss.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational standards and security policies across all systems, protecting sensitive data and intellectual property.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Expert-level knowledge of UNIX/Linux, Redhat/Centos, and automation/configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, Python.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with Linux servers in virtualized environments, VMware Administration – Virtualization techniques, and other virtualization technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of server hardware and software, with expertise in LVM and Linux File systems.
  • Proficient with LVM and Linux File systems, kernel/System parameters tuning, and Oracle ASM and SAN Storage.
  • Ability to troubleshoot TCP/IP, Routing, DNS, NFS, and other network protocols.
