Backend Developer Opportunity

We are looking for a skilled Backend Developer to join our team. As a key member of the development team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing high-performance microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience in building scalable and efficient systems with low-latency design. Strong expertise in MySQL, MongoDB, or ScyllaDB is also required. Additionally, knowledge of data consistency models, circuit breakers, internal DSLs, and low-latency API design is necessary.

As a Backend Developer, you will own end-to-end modules from design to rollout and collaborate with product/architect teams. You will participate in rigorous code reviews and contribute to a CI/CD pipeline that supports frequent, reliable, and automated deployments.

We are seeking someone who is comfortable working in a remote-first team with a culture of ownership, documentation, and async communication. A passion for clean code, testability, and driving engineering excellence via automation and tooling is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement custom algorithms and data models to support pricing, availability, and inventory workflows.
  • Use AI developer tools (Claude, Cursor) and LLMs via prompts, RAG, and agents to accelerate development.
  • Participate in the development of distributed, event-driven systems using SQS, Kinesis; solid understanding of fault tolerance, backpressure, and scalability.
Requirements:
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.
  • Strong experience with MySQL, MongoDB, or ScyllaDB.
  • Familiarity with data consistency models, circuit breakers, internal DSLs, and low-latency API design.
  • Proficient with Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch; have tuned systems for high throughput and sub-50ms latencies.
