Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Engineer to identify, evaluate and select vendors/suppliers for mechanical, electrical and project-related materials.
The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating and selecting suppliers based on quality, price and delivery timelines. They will also prepare and process purchase orders in line with project requirements and company policies.
- Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, price and delivery timelines.
- Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with project requirements and company policies.
- Negotiate contracts, terms and pricing to ensure cost-effective procurement.
- Coordinate with project, design and site teams to understand technical requirements.
- Maintain a supplier database, evaluate supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Follow up with suppliers for order acknowledgment, dispatch details and logistics tracking.
- Prepare purchase reports, MIS and maintain proper documentation.
- Support procurement planning, budgeting and inventory control for ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory requirements and safety standards.
- 5-7 years of experience in procurement/engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes in EPC/Projects/Water Industry.
- Good understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment/materials.
- Vendor development and supplier relationship management skills.
- Negotiation and cost optimization skills.
- ERP/Procurement software knowledge preferred.
- Excellent communication, coordination and documentation skills.
