Job Overview

The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for developing and managing a robust supply base for critical components. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and materials, combined with excellent supplier management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • \
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers for various operations.\
  • Ensure supplier capability in handling specific components.\
  • Drive supplier performance improvement programs.\
  • Conduct supplier audits and follow up on corrective actions.\
  • Lead technical discussions with suppliers and internal teams on material specifications and process improvements.\
  • Review and approve supplier documentation as per automotive standards.\
  • Resolve technical challenges related to plating, machining, PCB development, stamping, and molding processes.\
  • Work closely with design, engineering, production, and quality teams to align supplier capabilities with project requirements.\
  • Act as the primary technical interface between suppliers and internal stakeholders.\
  • Support cost reduction initiatives through value engineering and alternate material/process development.\
  • Ensure suppliers comply with automotive quality systems.\
  • Monitor and reduce supplier non-conformance issues.\
  • Drive continuous improvement in supplier processes to meet zero-defect goals.\

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • \
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering (preferred).\
  • 10–15 years of experience in supplier development, supplier quality, or supply chain management in the automotive industry.\
  • Strong knowledge of plating, machining, PCB development, stamping, molding, and specific materials.\
  • Hands-on experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, and problem-solving methodologies.\
  • Proven ability to manage multiple suppliers, negotiate effectively, and build long-term relationships.\
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.\
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and cost reduction techniques.\
