Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Agroforestry Specialist to lead our efforts in designing and implementing environmentally sound, livelihood-enhancing restoration and agroforestry interventions.

  • This role ensures that natural resource management priorities are fully integrated into value chain strategies, driving sustainable development and economic growth.
  • The successful candidate will provide technical expertise in agroforestry and restoration activities across value chain scoping, analysis, prioritisation, and solution development.
  • They will support the design of field survey protocols and selection of focal species, advise on technical interventions and capacity-building materials, and actively participate in stakeholder consultations and fieldwork.
  • In addition, they will support the drafting and delivery of comprehensive project reports, providing insights and recommendations for future initiatives.

About the Role

  • Masters/Diploma in Environmental Science, Forestry, or Natural Resource Management.
  • 8 years of professional experience in natural resources management, agroforestry, and nature-based businesses; 5 years of experience in agroforestry and nature-based value chains; 2 years of total experience in value chain-related projects in Rajasthan and/or Maharashtra.
  • English and Hindi language proficiency is required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sustainable agroforestry practices and strategies to promote ecological restoration and improve livelihoods.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for value chain development and integration of natural resource management priorities.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members on agroforestry and restoration activities.
  • Analyze data and develop recommendations for project improvements and future initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Environmental Science, Forestry, or Natural Resource Management.
  • 8 years of professional experience in natural resources management, agroforestry, and nature-based businesses.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
