About the Job:

We're seeking a skilled software developer to join our team and contribute to the development of a next-generation personal finance app. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing high-performance backends using Node.js and TypeScript.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop RESTful APIs from OpenAPI specifications, ensuring security, scalability, and performance.
  • Implement SQS workers for ingestion and insights processing, utilizing Plaid API and Postgres database.
  • Collaborate with Platform/Infra engineer to ensure security, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop efficient queries, cursor pagination, and Redis caching for hot reads.
  • Enforce input validation, structured logging, and distributed tracing throughout the system.
  • Write unit tests, documentation, and runbooks for reproducibility and maintainability.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience building Node/TypeScript backends with Postgres and a queue (SQS/Rabbit/etc.).
  • Proven expertise in secure webhooks and third-party APIs.
  • Strong understanding of idempotency, retries/backoff, cursor pagination, error design, and API performance.
  • Proficiency in Docker, GitHub Actions, and observability fundamentals.
