Occupational Nutrition Specialist Job Description

The role of an Occupational Nutrition Specialist is to provide expert guidance on workplace nutrition and develop personalized diet plans for employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Nutritional Assessments: Conduct thorough assessments of employees to identify nutritional needs and create tailored diet plans, including monitoring food quality and hygiene standards in canteens.
  2. Dietary Guidance: Provide expert advice on healthy eating practices, portion control, and balanced meal planning to prevent lifestyle-related illnesses and promote overall well-being.
  3. Canteen Management: Plan and oversee the preparation of nutritious meals in company canteens, ensuring alignment with occupational health and energy needs.
  4. Food Quality and Safety: Monitor food quality, hygiene standards, and portioning in canteens to ensure compliance with nutrition and safety norms.
  5. Counseling and Education: Counsel employees on healthy eating practices, conduct awareness sessions, workshops, and health talks on balanced diet, workplace nutrition, hydration, and stress-related eating.
  6. Collaboration and Record-Keeping: Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care and maintain records of dietary assessments, menu plans, interventions, and progress.
  7. Professional Development: Stay updated on best practices in clinical nutrition, occupational health nutrition, and industrial dietary management.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's / Master's degree in Nutrition & Dietetics, Food & Nutrition, or equivalent.
  • Registered Dietician certification preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Dietitian, preferably in occupational health, hospital, or industrial healthcare setup.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical nutrition, occupational health nutrition, and preventive healthcare.
  • Experience in large-scale menu planning and industrial canteen management will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent communication, counseling, and interpersonal skills.
