Job Title

We are seeking a dedicated Physiotherapist to work with students who have learning difficulties.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in physiotherapy, coupled with proven experience in teaching or working with individuals with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy assessments for children with various needs.
  • Develop, implement, and review individualized treatment plans and therapy goals in collaboration with teachers, parents, and other health professionals.
  • Deliver 1:1 and group physiotherapy sessions tailored to each child's developmental level and physical needs.
  • Provide support for physical access and mobility within the school environment, including recommending adaptations and assistive equipment.
  • Monitor progress and outcomes using evidence-based tools and update care plans accordingly.
  • Support pupils with postural management programs, mobility aids, orthotics, and safe handling strategies.
  • Work closely with teaching staff, occupational therapists, speech & language therapists, and school nurses.
  • Contribute to multi-disciplinary team meetings, reviews, and transition planning.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records, risk assessments, and reports in line with professional standards.
  • Provide training to school staff and families on physiotherapy programs, manual handling, and positioning techniques.
Requirements:
  • 3 to 7 years of experience working with children and adults with multiple disabilities.
  • Degree in Physiotherapy (BSc or MSc) and HCPC registration (Health and Care Professions Council).
  • Previous experience working with children and/or young people with special needs is highly desirable.
  • Manual Handling and Safeguarding Children.
  • Knowledge of conditions affecting motor development and experience with specialist equipment.
