This position is a critical component of our organization, focusing on the oversight of general accounting operations. An experienced professional with excellent analytical skills and thorough knowledge of accounting principles will oversee financial transactions, reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining a general ledger, and preparing month-end close procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts
  2. Publish error-free accounting reports and present their results
  3. Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
  4. Detect errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
  5. Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
  6. Supervise accounting assistants and bookkeepers
  7. Prepare financial statements
  8. Support tax audits and tax returns
  9. Plan, assign, and review staff's work
  10. Assist with the month-end and year-end close process
  11. Develop and document business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  12. Ensure compliance with US GAAP principles
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as an accountant
  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
  • In-depth understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (USGAAP)
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like Xero and QuickBooks
  • Advanced MS Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables
  • Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
  • Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Relevant certification (e.g., CMA or CPA) will be preferred
