Senior Structural Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Structural Engineer to lead our team of junior engineers. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing projects from concept to completion and overseeing the development of structural designs.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of junior structural engineers, providing guidance on complex engineering projects and ensuring high-quality outcomes.
  • Manage structural engineering projects, defining scope, budgeting, scheduling, and allocating resources effectively.
  • Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and regulatory authorities throughout the project lifecycle, fostering strong relationships and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Deliver engineering designs, plans, and documents within quality and cost parameters, meeting deadlines while maintaining high standards.
  • Conduct technical reviews, quality assurance checks, and risk assessments for ongoing projects, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Develop and review structural design for buildings, retaining walls, and other structures, applying expertise and judgment to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Oversee the preparation of detailed engineering calculations, load assessments, and finite element analysis using software tools, such as ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, SAFE, and RCDC.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders on structural matters, providing clear communication and expert advice.

Requirements:

  • Mastery of structural engineering principles and practices, with a deep understanding of building codes and regulations.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, with experience in motivating and guiding teams to achieve exceptional results.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and negotiate effectively.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks effectively and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
