Chief Data Governance Strategist

Job Title: Chief Data Governance Strategist

A seasoned professional in data governance is required to spearhead the development and implementation of tools and technologies necessary for an Enterprise Data Governance program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and support solutions for data governance in popular platforms, facilitating data cataloging, metadata management, and data lineage across enterprise applications and data sources.
  • Enable business users to search and understand information by creating standard business glossaries and data dictionaries, integrating metadata stores at an enterprise level.
  • Support the implementation of data cataloging with a data governance tool, establishing clear data ownership and access control management.
  • Build custom integrations between data governance tools and various data stores to map and view data lineage.
  • Assist in migrating from existing data sources like SharePoint and Excel to a data governance tool.
  • Implement a workflow management system to optimize, improve, and automate data governance workflows for data stewards, increasing output, eliminating repetition, and reducing errors.
  • Track, investigate, and correct data quality issues in a data governance tool, setting up data quality rules for data validation and standardization.
Experience & Skills Required:
  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience utilizing tools like Collibra, Informatica, Alation, etc. to implement data governance programs.
  • 5+ years of experience in data management space under any area.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proven ability to work with business stakeholders and leaders to identify and align on workable business solutions to data privacy requirements and challenges.
  • Knowledge of data governance practices, business, and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection.
  • Demonstrated consulting skills, with change management concepts and strategies.
  • Certifications on these tools are a plus.

This position requires strong expertise in data governance, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to drive initiatives forward.
