Data Governance Specialist

This position involves developing and implementing data governance strategies to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and security of enterprise information assets.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Develop tools and technologies to support Enterprise Data Governance programs.
    • Create solutions for data governance in popular tools like Collibra, Informatica, Alation, etc. to enable data cataloging, metadata management, and data lineage of enterprise applications and data sources.
    • Enable enterprise-level integration of metadata stores for business users to search and understand information by developing standard business glossaries and data dictionaries.
    • Support the implementation of a solution for data cataloging with a data governance tool to establish clear data ownership and access control management.
    • Build custom integrations between the data governance tool and various data stores to map and view data lineage.
    • Support the enterprise in migrating from existing data sources like SharePoint, Excel, etc. to a data governance tool.
    • Implement workflow management systems to optimize, improve, and automate data governance workflows for data stewards to increase output, eliminate repetition, and reduce errors.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or other related fields or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience utilizing tools like Collibra, Informatica, Alation, etc. to implement data governance programs.
  • 5+ years of experience in data management space under any area.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proven ability to work with business stakeholders and leaders to identify and align on workable business solutions to data privacy requirements and challenges.
  • Knowledge of data governance practices, business, and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection.
  • Demonstrated consulting skills, with change management concepts and strategies.
