Storage & Backup Specialist

The primary role of the Storage & Backup Specialist is to design, implement, and maintain enterprise storage and backup solutions. This position is critical in ensuring data availability, integrity, and recoverability across all systems, supporting business continuity and disaster recovery strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer, configure, and troubleshoot complex storage environments including IBM FlashSystem 7300 (FS7300) and IBM SVC.
  • Manage and optimize NetApp C Series storage arrays, encompassing provisioning, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
  • Implement and maintain robust data replication strategies using IBM replication technologies and NetApp.
  • Design, implement, and manage Veritas NetBackup 11 solutions to ensure seamless data protection.
  • Administer and troubleshoot NetBackup FlexScale and NetBackup Flex Appliances for optimal performance.
  • Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Brocade SAN switches to guarantee network efficiency.
  • Execute switch replacements and upgrades in a live production environment with minimal downtime.
  • Continuously monitor storage infrastructure health, performance, and capacity, taking proactive measures to address potential issues.
  • Implement and enforce strict security best practices for storage systems.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum 7+ years of hands-on experience as a Storage Administrator.
  • Strong expertise in IBM Storage: IBM FlashSystem 7300 (FS7300) and IBM SVC.
  • Strong expertise in NetApp Storage: NetApp C Series and SnapMirror replication.
  • Strong expertise in Veritas NetBackup 11: Including NetBackup FlexScale and NetBackup Flex Appliances.
  • Strong knowledge of IBM replication technologies.
  • Proven experience with Brocade SAN switches: Including ISL configuration and switch replacement procedures.
  • Solid understanding of Fibre Channel protocols, zoning, and multipathing.
  • Experience with performance analysis and tuning of storage systems.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications:
  • Certifications in IBM Storage, NetApp, Brocade, or NetBackup.
  • Scripting skills in Ansible.
  • Experience with GCP backups.
