Job Title: Head IP Expert

Educational Qualifications:

  • Professional qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Electronics, Automotive, or Material Science)

Additional Skills:

  • IP knowledge and experience will be an advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum 18 years of experience

Purpose of the Role:

  1. Review designs to identify potential areas for IP risk and develop mitigation strategies.
  2. Develop search strategies and carry out analysis for FTO, SOA, invalidation, opposition, and litigation.
  3. Perform advanced technology and competitive intelligence analysis for design IP protection.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Drive IP strategy, review designs for IP risk, and initiate actions to mitigate risks.
  2. Perform patent and competitor portfolio analysis for effective search and analysis of IP.
  3. Work closely with legal associates and close IP FTO opinion reports in a timely manner.
  4. Plan and conduct BOM reviews for NPD at the product level, implement best practices, standardize processes, and enhance productivity through digitalization.
  5. Release periodic alerts, review concerns from stakeholders, effectively build conviction, and manage projects independently.
  6. Plan, conduct searches, and trigger timely protection for all forms of IP across major global jurisdictions.
  7. Be well-versed with industry best practices, state-of-art tools for IP searches, and perform searches across multiple jurisdictions.
  8. Review and resolve claim interpretation issues with stakeholders, maintain confidentiality of IP matters, and systematically document records.

IP knowledge and experience will be an advantage.
