Water Conservation Specialist

The role of a Water Conservation Specialist is to apply knowledge of engineering technology and agriculture science towards resolving problems and issues concerned with water, land & farm sectors.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct site surveys to identify potential sites for watershed development projects, analyzing data related to soil quality and topography.
  • Design and cost estimation of soil and water conservation measures, including the construction of check dams, farm ponds and contour trenches.
  • Develop detailed project plans in consultation with local communities and other stakeholders, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards.
  • Coordinate with government agencies, NGOs, and other organizations to obtain necessary approvals and permissions for project implementation.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to local communities and project partners in areas such as soil conservation, water management and crop cultivation.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of the project, making necessary adjustments to ensure project objectives are met.
