This role is part of a high-performing engineering team, requiring a senior member to lead project work and collaborate with colleagues in Hong Kong. The successful candidate will mentor junior members, drive production, and foster a culture of excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Create feasibility study reports that meet client requirements, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with agreed formats.
  • Collaborate with the WSP India-Hong Kong Team to develop design specifications that meet employer needs, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion.
  • Work closely with the Local CRC Head of Structures to agree on scope of works, ensuring mutual understanding and effective collaboration.
  • Craft building requirements and purpose-of-use definitions in conjunction with the Local CRC Head of Structures and WSP India-Hong Kong Team, enabling detailed design.
  • Deliver detailed designs according to client needs, adhering to standard codes, QA processes, and technical reviews, with sign-off by the Local CRC Head of Structures.
  • Review and monitor calculation production, ensuring quality assurance, technical reviews, and timely completion.
  • Foster clear communication regarding design progress, providing explanations for design decisions to the WSP India-Hong Kong Team.
  • Coordinate project contracts documents (drawings and specifications), reviewing input from team members.
  • Lead the design process, encouraging the team to deliver cost-effective solutions aligned with the agreed program.
  • Maintain document control and QA processes, ensuring drawings, specifications, reports, and correspondence are issued and filed appropriately, coaching junior staff in these procedures.
  • Oversee a team of Engineers and Revit Technicians.

Key Competencies/Skills:

  • The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in building structure design, preferably in a similar role or demonstrating a strong track record.
  • Excellent presentation skills are essential.
  • The applicant should be proficient in technical structural software like RAM, CSC, ETABS, SAFE, and STAAD.
  • A sound understanding of Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project, is mandatory.
  • Fluency in English, with an excellent grasp of technical terminology, is required.
  • The candidate should possess good management, communication, and technical skills, with the ability to work effectively within teams and independently as needed.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is necessary, along with membership in an accredited engineering body.
  • Possession of British Chartered Engineer status or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 12 years of experience.
