Job Title: Mainframe Application Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled mainframe developer to create and implement new mainframe applications, modify existing ones, analyze and resolve complex technical issues, conduct code reviews, enhance application performance, and provide timely support for production issues and outages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement new mainframe applications or modify existing ones to meet business requirements.
  • Analyze and resolve complex technical issues and defects using strong problem-solving skills and logical thinking.
  • Conduct regular code reviews to ensure compliance with coding standards and best practices.
  • Enhance application performance and scalability by optimizing system configuration and identifying potential bottlenecks.
  • Provide prompt support for production issues and outages, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum system availability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems by utilizing analytical abilities and expertise in mainframe technologies.
  • Monitor system performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Document technical solutions and share knowledge with team members to promote collaboration and knowledge-sharing.

Requirements:

  • Strong proficiency in mainframe technologies, including COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and IMS.
  • Experience with mainframe development tools and utilities.
  • In-depth understanding of mainframe system architecture and operating systems (z/OS).
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in mainframe application development.
