Mainframe Storage System Engineer Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Storage System Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure group, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our mainframe storage systems.

Your expertise in mainframe storage subsystems will enable us to meet our data storage and management needs effectively. You will work closely with system administrators, database administrators, and application teams to ensure seamless data backup and recovery operations and data migration projects.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, and/or equivalent military experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in Mainframe storage subsystems, architecture, and management.
  • 8+ years of experience with storage management software and utilities such as DFSMS, DFSMSdss, and DFSMSrmm.
  • 8+ years of experience with storage virtualization technologies and concepts, including DASD, VTS, and SAN/NAS storage provisioning.
  • 8+ years of experience with storage networking protocols and technologies, such as FICON, Fibre Channel, and SCSI.
