Coastal Engineering Specialist

Job Description:

  • Perform numerical modeling and analysis of coastal processes, including wave, hydrodynamics, sediment transport, water quality, etc.
  • Design and develop coastal structure concepts, including breakwater shore protection measures;
  • Support multidisciplinary projects primarily in marine and harbor design work, and coastal flood resiliency initiatives
  • Participate in preparing reports/proposals and collaborate with other disciplines.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Coastal, Ocean, or Marine Engineering/Science;
  • Minimum 5 years experience in coastal numerical modeling and coastal engineering;
  • Excellent knowledge of coastal processes analysis and ocean/coastal numerical modeling;
  • Knowledge and experience in port and marine engineering;
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license recommended;
  • Ability to work within a team environment with minimal supervision;
  • Good communication and reporting skills; and
  • Willingness to meet project deadlines as needed.

Qualifications

  • Master of Engineering degree (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering discipline from an accredited college/university.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng), or Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent from any global organization;
  • 5+ years experience as a Structural Engineer with a focus on ports, marine, and waterfront projects.
