Risk Management Expert Wanted

The Ujjivan Small Finance Bank is seeking a skilled Research Analyst to join its Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) unit within the Risk Management Department. The role involves conducting in-depth research, benchmarking, and analysis to support risk assessments, strategic decision-making, and Board-level reporting.

Benchmarking is crucial in this role as it enables the bank to compare its performance with that of its peers (SFBs, Universal banks, peer NBFCs). This information is then used to identify areas for improvement and inform strategic decisions.

Ratio Analysis is also an essential skill required for this position. It involves performing ratio analysis & interpreting trends/insights on capital adequacy, NIM, cost-to-income, credit costs, GNPA/NNPA, RoA, RoE etc. This helps in understanding the bank's financial health and identifying potential risks.

Another key responsibility is tracking and interpreting peer disclosures, investor presentations, call transcripts & annual reports for risk and performance insights. This requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

In addition to these responsibilities, the successful candidate will also be responsible for researching and reviewing business models of peers across retail, MSME, Microfinance, Housing and other segments. This will help in identifying best practices and areas for improvement.

The ideal candidate will have a postgraduate degree in Finance, Economics, or related fields (MBA/PGDM, FRM, CFA preferred). They should have at least 3-5 years of relevant experience in research, financial analysis, consulting or enterprise risk. Certifications on FRM/PRM are an added plus.
