Position: Accounting and Taxation Specialist

We are seeking an experienced accounting and taxation specialist to join our team in a challenging role.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal and provincial laws, and supporting overall financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain financial statements in accordance with ASPE or IFRS standards.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • File GST/HST, payroll remittances, corporate tax (T2), and other regulatory returns as required.
  • Assist with personal tax (T1) filings during tax season and provide support to clients.
  • Liaise with external auditors, CRA, and other regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and address any issues that may arise.
  • Analyze financial data to support budgeting and forecasting, identifying areas for improvement and opportunities for growth.
  • Ensure full compliance with Canadian accounting and tax laws, regulations, and policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Candidate must hold a CA designation or be a CA Intern Fresher.
  • 1–3 years of experience in Canadian accounting or taxation is preferred.
  • Proficiency with accounting and tax software such as Profile, TaxCycle, CaseWare, or Cantax is required.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian tax rules and filing procedures is essential.
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills are necessary.
